Everything you need to know before going to Asia for the first time!

Going to China for the first time? Confused on how to get organized?

Don't worry! Here are my tips of my experience of  my first time in Asia and it
was amazing! Although there are many doubts when going for the first time due
to the cultural difference it is incredible.  One blog post is too short
for such an amazing trip with a lot of information I'd love to share with you so
I am going to write an entry per place with my recommendations.

What should you do before going to China? Don't
wait to arrive and see what you are going to do.
 It's very important to
search your interest prior to the trip and organize your agenda because there
is A LOT to see and if you don't organize you'll end up waisting time. Cities
are immense and there is a lot to do, so thats my tip # 1, organize!

Problems with the food? NO! In my
personal experience it was ok. People scares you when you are going to China
and start telling you to take food with you. We were in a touristic area so
there was food for any of your liking. I do recommend to research where you
will eat before heading out of the hotel to avoid mistakes. We also stick to
basics and didn’t adventure to eat things we are not used to. But once again RESEARCH. Trip advisor does a great
work to help you find great places.

Other tip, to communicate can be an issue if you don’t know how to talk mandarin. Even
though you know every part of China has their own language so I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO TAKE A CARD WITH YOUR
HOTEL NAME
in the language of the place you are at the moment, so if you
get lost you only have to give the card to the taxi and literally make signs
telling them “there”.  Cities are very
big and it is easy to get lost.

Internet? You’ll be forced to take a break from social media because many sites such as google, facebook, Instagram
and Snapchat are blocked.  In some places
where they have an IP address from other country you can log in. Is is very easy to get a mobile chip. What
happened to me is that I bought it and though it didn’t work, but it did work.
The problem was my main search site is gmail so it wasn’t working and I didn’t
figure that on time. Also my mail is gmail so I couldn’t download my mail so it
was kind of a mess.

Last but not least, we where able to take a cruise
in Asia and I highly recommend it. Asia is so big, with so many interesting
places to go that it can be confusing to organize. Taking a cruise makes it
easier because they have already organized routes and they also have organized
trips within the place. We took a cruise from Celebrity Cruises and it was 10 out of 10.

One post is not enough for all the information I’d like to share, so stay tune. I’ll
share more information by location on other posts.

Xoxo,

Nathalie
